Clock Pendant Necklace

Hi guys,
A while ago at a street fair I noticed a new trend: clock pendant necklaces (for lack of a better word/phrase/name).  They all had magical vintage look to them and were in all sizes.  I chose a smaller pendant (because I knew I would wear it more).  I have been wearing this necklace a ton and I love it.
You can press the button on the top to open up the pendant to see the time. It is almost as cool as a pocket-watch!

I am starting to see similar items in stores I think they are becoming a bit of a trend.
Are you guys noticing any jewelry trends? Share below!

Classic Romance

Hi guys,
I love that time of year where the tail-end of summer meets the beginning of fall.  Although this period is brief, it is a perfect time to wear your favorite summer clothes or your favorite fall clothes.  You get the best of both worlds.  This outfit was inspired by that special time of year (now).  Check out this outfit I put together.

Back to School: All About You.

Hi guys,
I have already made a post about what to bring when you go back to school; this post is all about your attitude towards school. This is a bit of a long post so if just want to skim over the bold words and the quote, be my guest.  Let's face it most of us do not want to go back.  If you go back saying: "Oh my gosh I hate school, I hate everything." you probably are going to hate it.  It is a good idea just to accept that it is time to go back and see what this year will bring.  Also there has to be one thing that you are looking forward to about going back (even if it is just showing off your new clothes, or a new haircut).
Going back to school is a great time to make "School Year Resolutions".
Set some goals for yourself (and try not to fall off of them like many off us do with new year resolutions).  Make your goals realistic, like not leaving projects and studying for the test for the night before.
Try to set apart time for yourself, when ever you can, even if your really busy.  Let's say that you are studying for a big chemistry test, take 15 minute breaks every once and a while.  If you don't take any breaks you are likely to end up wanting to: scream at the top of your lungs and chuck your book out of the nearest window (speaking from experience).  Setting apart time for your self can include social time.  It always helps to have someone to talk to.
Basically, when it comes to school balance is key.  Although you may not achieve the perfect balance (I haven't), it is all about getting close enough.  I chose this quote because thought this quote summed up my post perfectly.
Good luck this school year everyone!

Review: Milani Lipstick

Hi guys,
I recently purchased two lipsticks from the Milani brand.  I have never been much of a lipstick wearer and have always been more into lip glosses; but when I saw the shiny-bright-golden packaging I gravitated toward this product like a moth to a flame (good job with the packaging Milani).
I bought two colors Nude Creme and Fruit Punch.

Pros:
Price
Very-pigmented color
Non-drying
Wearable colors
Build-able colors
Great to put a lip gloss on top of

Cons:
Not very long lasting
May have to moisturize lips before using for a better application

Overall:  I would recommend this product especially the Nude Creme because it is perfect for mixing with another lipstick or lip gloss.

Hi guys,

I was nominated for the Liebster award by the lovely Charley over at Rambling of a Beauty Blogger. Thanks again for the nomination!

The Liebster Award is given to up and coming bloggers who have less than 200 followers.  What does Liebster mean?  Liebster is German and means sweetest, nicest, kindest, dearest, beloved, lovely, pleasant, kind, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome. :D

Here are the rules...

1. Link back to the blogger who nominated you thanking them.
2. Answer the 10 questions you've been asked from the person who nominated you.

3. Create 10 questions of your own to ask some other bloggers.
4. Share the love: Choose 10 other bloggers, with less than 200 followers, to nominate and send them a comment or message letting them know you've nominated them.

Questions and Answers:

1. Where are you from?
I am from Brooklyn, New York.
2. How long have you been blogging?
I have been blogging for about a month.
3. The all important question: tea or coffee?
TEA! I love tea, especially when the weather starts too cool down and I carry my beloved tea thermos and extra tea bags around the college campus.  I have a sizable tea collection in my cupboard.  My favorite tea is green tea.
 4. If you were stranded on a desert island and could only take three things (beauty or other), what would they be?
Wow.  I would have to say... Cocoa butter (for my lips and my skin if I dry out), a good book and lighter to start campfires and help me cook.
5. When did you first start using makeup?
At age 14 I started using eyeliner.  I used eyeliner on my bottom lid only the top was too awkward for me to reach (at the time). Haha. After a while I got the hang of it.
6. Do you have any pets, what are their names?
I have a fish tank of nameless fish at the moment.  At one point I did have a tortise, I let him walk around the house during the day and let him eat lettuce and at nighttime I would put him to bed.
7. If you could have any beauty product delivered to your door right this second, what would it be?
I would have to say anything from La Mer.  Their products seem very luxurious and magical.
8. Do you prefer summer or autumn/winter polish?
I prefer summer nail polish because I feel that I have more options.  I test out a few colors, but I always end up back with nude-pink shades.
 9. What is your favorite colour?
Red
10.What is that one must-have product you own and why?
Beauty-wise I'm going to have to go with my trusty cocoa butter because it is a lifesaver.  Non-beauty-wise it would have to say my laptop because I use it on a daily basis to blog, study or surf the web.

App: Inspirational Quotes

Hi guys,

I am not really much of an app person.  I usually use an app (especially games) for about a week or two and then it just sits there taking up space on my phone; this is partially because I don't spend much time on my phone other than texting and calling.  I am recommending this app because I have been using it for a few months.
The app is....*drum roll please* "Inspiring Quotes 5000"!

I have been using this quote app for whenever I feel down in the dumps and need some motivation.  I have an Iphone, but I am pretty sure you can fine an alternative for android phones.   This app is very simple lets you flip through quotes to your heart's content.

Back to School: Beauty

Hi guys,

*sigh*  It is time for many of us to face the fact that we are going to head back to school soon.  I hope all of you had a great summer, I know I did.  Well don't be too sad about going back to your studies; try to make the best of this school year.   I made a collage of the more fun side of what goes into your book-bag (not the textbooks and notebooks).  Here are some beauty essentials:

When going to school it isn't time for you to bring your whole beauty arsenal; travel light.  Bring anything that requires touch-ups (I have included: mascara, pressed powder, blotting paper, hair ties, eyeliner, lip gloss, lip stick, perfume).  Try to keep your makeup light during regular school days, so you can wow everyone with your fancy makeup during a dance or a party!

Curly Hair Tips Part II

Hey guys,
In curly hair tips part I we discussed hair care; well that is only half the battle.  If you haven't read that post scroll down to see what you missed.  In my opinion styling is much more complicated because there are so many ways one can style curly hair, from hair products to hair drying, it is all about experimentation.  Here are the tips.
  • Choose a styling product.  Those of you with curly hair know that this can be like finding a needle in a hay stack (maybe I'm exaggerating).  Let's break it down!  If you have wavy hair you may want to choose something with a softer hold, such as a mouse or a curl cream.   If you have tighter curls you may want to choose something with a stronger hold, like a gel.  These are not rules set in stone, consider them as more of a guideline.  In fact you may want to try all types of styling products to see how your curls will turn out with each of them.  You'll be surprised how many ways your hair can be styled.
  • Use an oil.  Now this is completely optional.  Adding an oil to your hair will give your hair extra moisture and it will counteract any crunchy hold styling product may have on your hair.  If you decide to use an oil try to use it in moderation (as not to get rid of any hold altogether).
  • Dry.  Now drying can be accomplished in one of two ways: air drying and diffusing.  I usually go for air drying especially in warmer months.  If you are in a rush to get out of the house and aren't really feeling the idea of leaving the house with wet hair, you should try diffusing.  A diffuser is an attachment to a hair dryer that stops your hair from being in the direct blast of air from the hair dryer but also allows it to dry properly.
  • Now you are ready to go!

Skirt it up!

Hi guys,
I have always been a dress person in the summer months, but this summer I decided to wear more skirts.  I realized that for some reason I didn't wear skirts much at all; it was time to change it up and give my skirts their turn in the spotlight.  This is the result of my skirt frenzy. :)
Here I put together 3 looks, with 3 skirts for 3 different moods.

The romantic look features a classic A-line (or skater) skirt.  A-line skirts are timeless and can be dressed to basically any occasion. This look is made of soft colors, dainty jewelry and natural makeup.  Perfect for the daytime.

The party girl look features a form-fitting skirt.  The skirt is perfect for parties because of its cut and the floral pattern makes it perfect for spring and summer.  This fun look is made up of bold colors including the make up.

The casual chic look features an A-line skirt with a twist... shoulder straps.  The shoulder straps and worn finish to the skirt make it chic.  The look is played up with accessories and an unexpected bold lip.
