Hi everyone,

I hope you enjoyed the previous post in this series about makeup.  This post is going to be all about hair.  This time I'll let these pictures do the talking!

Still Looking for a New Look: Makeup (New series)

Hi everyone,

I know many of us have been there where something gets so routine it's not fun anymore; when this happens to our beauty routines we must do something because makeup and hair shouldn't be such a boring chore.  Here is a little mini series I made to help you get out of that rut!  And the first of this series will be about makeup (the others will be about hair and clothes)!  Hope you find something inspiring!

  • Soft vs. Statement making:  I know I don't really go all out in the lipstick department on the daily so if I am wearing any lipstick (I usually wear gloss), it would probably be "soft", but maybe I'll change it up. :) And if you are up for it maybe you should too.   Above I have a "nude" lipstick and a "coral" lipstick.  Why all of the quotation marks?  People have hundreds of different definitions of nude and coral.  Here is an example I've heard that nude is a color close to your natural lip, a soft pink or a color close to your skin tone (I'm not sure what to believe).  I'll let you pick your definition. :)
  • Neutral vs. Neon: If you usually head out the door in brown or black eyeliner and want to get extra sassy try lining either your top or bottom lash line with a different color.  If you are very used to brown or black this may take a bit of getting used to.
  • Earthy vs. Vibrant: If you wear earth-tones try bright spring colors or if your feeling bold go for a vibrant color.  Choosing a vibrant color can be tricky, but if you are up for it... blend the vibrant color in with a neutral color  (use the vibrant color on the lid and neutral on the crease).  Go have fun with your eye shadows, the most playful part of makeup.
  • Blush vs. Bronzer:  I'm going to be completely honest and say that I have never set foot in the world of bronzer but I may be giving it a try soon.  If you are un-experienced in wearing blush and rely on bronzer it may be time to switch things up as well!
  • Delicate vs. Daring:  I know nail polish isn't really makeup but hey, if that's something you want to change up go ahead!
Well I hope you found this post helpful.  You don't have to change everything up just because it is a new season.  If you are like me then you will probably not recognize yourself  after all of these changes and prefer gradual change; but if you are up for it great!  Also don't feel pressured into doing something because it is trendy if you are comfortable and set in your ways then so be it. :)

Also keep an eye out for the next two posts in the series!
Are you willing to change up your makeup for Spring?

Spring Cleaning

Hi everyone,

I know this list may be a bit late for some people but it is definitely that time of year again, Spring cleaning time.  Remember that New Years resolution you made to be more organized?  Well now it is coming back to bite you; just kidding it is not that bad. :)

I like to get this out of the way before the weather is too nice.  When the weather is nice, who wants to be cooped up in their room cleaning and peering out of the window at the lovely day?  Not me in fact I would find that a bit depressing.  So while the weather outside is still on the "eh" side of things why not spruce up your room.
Here are some tips for Spring cleaning:
  • Choose a full day for this activity.  I know when I start cleaning I go on a spree.  For example,  I'll clean my closet then think to myself "I should go clean my shelf" then before you know it is late.
  • Also plan what you are going to clean or you may end up biting off more then you can chew.   Another reason you should plan is because if you are reorganizing something you may want to plan how you want to arrange things.
  • Play some music to get you motivated.
  • Do not leave your room until you are done.  I know that sounds like a punishment but personally I can't stand coming back to a half finished project if I can help it.
  • Organize things based on how you live.  Sounds like a no brainer right?  But it is actually something you should put some thought into.  If you like to wear casual clothes don't put your jeans far from reach.  Think about what you find yourself reaching for most often and put that in a place for easy access.
  • Don't give up!  I know there is a certain point where you kind of want to throw everything into a corner, but think of it this way, you'll just have to clean that another time.
  • Enjoy your fresh new room! Be proud and reward yourself by lighting a nice smelling candle.
Well I hope that was helpful.  As for me I'm planning on conquering my room quite soon.

Spring Jewelry

Hi guys,

The weather looks like it is finally starting to warm up!  And since it is starting to warm up I get inspired to wear some of my favorite things, rings and fancy jewelry.  I'm not inspired to wear jewelry in the winter.  Although I do wear two rings that I never take off all year round, it can get annoying when wearing gloves; I take my gloves off carefully (as not to disturb the rings).  I'd also like to wear dangling earrings and necklaces but it is annoying when your earrings and necklace get stuck to your scarf.  But I have to admit I do love wearing scarves.  Now that the need for winter accessories is decreasing I'm almost ready to break out some jewelry.  I put together this collage in my favorite spring colors.
What is your favorite spring accessory?

Let's Chat #15 and Road Trip Essentials

Hi everyone,

I hope you all are doing well.  As for me I'm excited for my road trip in a couple of days.  I love a good road trip and I have been on quite a few.  I really feel like I need a change of scenery, so this will be the perfect escape.  If you haven't been on a road trip I would highly suggest it.  Yes there is a part of the road trip that gets boring, and when you get out of the car your legs feel like rubber but it is all worth it.  I have stopped over at some weird places along the way (including strange rest stops), that make for great (and very funny memories).  For a road trip, it's not only about the destination, it is also about the journey.  (I bet you have been missing my cheesy-ness.  For those who who missed it there you go, those who don't you'll survive).

So out of all of my excitement I am bringing you a little list of the things I always pack on a road trip:
  1. Back pack:  In here you pack all of those things you need easy access to throughout the trip.  Think about what you put in here because it is a big inconvenience to go into the trunk to get your camera.  This brings me to number 2.
  2. Bring a camera:  I prefer to use a camera instead of a cell phone, because you don't want your phone to run out of batteries during the ride.
  3. Shades: It can get sunny.  Need I say more?
  4. Headphones: Sometimes you other people don't want to listen to your music, or you don't listen to theirs; groove to your own music in peace.
  5. Slip on shoes:  Wear slip-ons because when you need to run out of the car and go to the bathroom, you don't have time for laces.
  6. A pillow:  Chances are if you aren't the one driving you will want to lay down/get comfy.  I like a full pillow as opposed to a "neck pillow" because I like to get really comfortable.
  7. A hoodie:  If the A/C is on it might get a bit chilly and you might want to shield yourself from that constant cold breeze.  This is especially helpful if you are the only one who thinks it is cold in the car.
  8. Blanket:  The reason for bringing this is the same reasoning that goes behind bringing a hoodie and pillow.  mmm....comfort!
  9. Socks: My feet are always cold...
  10. Snacks:  Sometimes your stomach can't wait for the next McDonalds and these things save your life.
  11.
Bonus tip:  Bring a map!  Do not only rely on GPS because you may loose service.  Also it's a good idea to know where you are going. :)
Do you like road trips?  What is your favorite mode of transportation?

Modern Disney Princess: Merida

Hi everyone,

Here is another Disney princess for y'all!  Now unlike most other princesses, Merida isn't much of a girly-girl.  After all it wouldn't be an inconvenience for her to act super girly while using a bow and arrow like a pro.

I think I really stood true to the character when creating this look especially the formal look.

New Products from Daily Dazzle Deals

Hi everyone,

I just got my new shipment of products from www.dailydazzledeals.com.  I am always pleased with the quality of the products I get. First of all I think the bullet bracelet was pretty cool and I will be giving that to my brother.  The sunglasses are nice.  Last but not least the bathing suit looked great! I was very pleasantly surprised.  The photograph on the website does not do this product justice.  In person the bikini is metallic silver and shiny ( not too shiny at all)with a snake skin type of design.

Here are the products:
